Recipe Yields: 3–4 cups

1 cup mixed greens

1⁄2 cup parsley leaves

1 cucumber, peeled

1 celery stalk, with leaves

1 small tart apple, peeled and cored

Juice and zest of a lime

1 kiwi, peeled

2 cups green tea, cooled

Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

Add more liquid if necessary.

Slim Shady Smoothie

This smoothie is a nutritional powerhouse for most people, but for some, the nightshades can be a nightmare. If you’re struggling with autoimmune disease or are just sensitive to nightshades, they can cause inflammation and pain in joints as well as digestive discomfort.
